Deadline for Fall Intake in Ireland 2020

While planning for abroad study in 2020, most students plan to take their aptitude and English proficiency test well in advance but face issues while applying. It is of utmost importance not only to arrange all documents on time but also to apply on time. In this article, I want you to understand the important dates and deadlines while applying for fall intake to study in Ireland.

Most universities in Ireland follow 8-10 months-long process of applications and VISA. In General, Ireland has 2 major intakes- September and January. With September being a major intake, the majority of student wants to apply for the September 2020 intake. Let’s take a closer look at each intake and the timelines.
For September intake, you would require to start early. Ideally, by Aug/Sep the previous year, you should plan on taking the aptitude test and English proficiency test. The application process will be roughly between Sep-Dec. Universities like Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin even have closed a few of their most popular programs like MSc Business Analytics/ Data Science program even before the regular deadline. While some other universities might accept applications till Mid-March as well.

For January intake, many colleges and universities have few courses only; therefore, the deadline will be available a little later as well. The deadlines for this intake would be around Jan-March the previous year. For a few colleges and universities, the applications might also be available till late April/May.
For a serious aspirant, September is the best time to apply for UG and PG programs for fall 2020 intake. The student should also be familiar with his finances and budget.  The application process will include the following components:
  • Online Application Form
  • Submission of Aptitude test (GRE/GMAT) if required and English proficiency test (IELTS/TOEFL)
  • Submission of 2-3 Letters of References
  • Statement of Purpose/Essay questions
  • All academic document submission
Post your application, it is also important to keep yourself updated with the deadlines and also keep in touch with the university/college representative/counselor for regular updates.
Please keep in mind that the deadline for any university is to remind students of the last day to apply. The key is to apply with full documents as soon as the application is available.
Also remember, an early application would also mean early decision and more chances of getting admission as well as scholarship.
