The deadlines for closing applications in the above table usually mean you have to apply your full application by then. To check the details with the colleges, you must usually send the following documents when applying for a bachelor or master’s degree:

  • CV
  • The academic reference letters
  • Previous degree certificates
  • Copy of national ID or Passport
  • Documentation for the program-specific requirements
  • Cover letter
  • English proficiency proof

Some of these documents can be submitted after the actual application deadline – as long as you have begun your application prior to that date. Ensure that you read the instructions for admissions to know exactly what documents are needed.

Which countries accept any late applications?

You need universities in some countries to submit applications at an early stage, such as Sweden or Finland, where first-round closing dates are typically in January. However, late applicants for a second admission round are often forwarded. If you don’t otherwise get enough applicants, this might be successful.

Otherwise, in general, some countries have very late deadlines for submission. You should usually apply until June in the Baltic countries – Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania. German public universities are usually permitted to apply until mid-July. Often you can submit an application in Austria and Poland just before the beginning of the semester.
